Star Produce

For more than 20 years, Star Produce has been supplying quality fruit and vegetables from around the globe to meet the demands of North American retail and food service buyers. With storage facilities, shipping resources and quality control centers, we manage the purchase, sale and handling of produce – and everything in between. Today, Star Produce has a worldwide team of growers, packers, shippers and employees with offices throughout North America. As we grow, we remain nimble enough to adapt to rapid developments in technology, food safety and regulatory practices so we can continue to meet the ever-changing needs of our partners and nurture the overall health of the industry.

The North American Trade Task Force

For 20 years, Star Produce has been committed to quality and food safety. We consistently monitor our produce to ensure we meet and exceed all food safety regulations. Each one of our facilities participates in a comprehensive annual program of independent third-party food safety audits.

Among these audits and food safety measures are:

  • HACCP facilities – annual outside audits done by Davis Fresh/ GFTC with pass rates of 95% +
  • Lot traceability and recall procedures
  • Tsunami Wash for fresh tomatoes to reduce the risk of e-coli and salmonella
  • Strict requirements for our growers to follow Good Agricultural Practices (GAP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in their fields and packing houses. Records of certificates, logs and audits are required for each of our growers
  • All suppliers are COOL compliant
